Dominique Garny

Dominique Garny, born in 1948 in Marche-en-Famenne, is a Belgian actor, screenwriter and director. He is best known for his role in Thierry Zéno’s Vase de noces (1974). He plays a lonely man in love with a sow. The same year, he wrote and directed the short film La jeune fille de 25 ans. In 1979, he wrote and directed, together with Thierry Zéno and Jean-Pol Ferbus, the documentary Of the Dead, selected at the Chicago International Film Festival.

How are human beings considered throughout the world when they are consigned to the realm of death? Over a two-year period, the three directors filmed funeral rites in South Korea, Thailand, Mexico, Belgium and the USA.
